Flawed Laquer Finish on Full Sized Plates
We love these plates, but there's something very strange about the finish. We've noticed on many of the plates both with our original Lenox full dinner set order and subsequent Macy's replacement plates that only part of the plate surface has a laquer finish. The other surface section has a matte finish. It's not a straight line dividing laquered from matte sections but but more jagged. A few of the full sized plates from our original Lenox order had a laquered finish - so I believe this might be a manufacturing flaw. And this isn't the case on the smaller sized plates.

Bought it on sale and love everything about it. It’s well-made, and I really like that the shape isn’t perfectly square—it gives a handmade, delicate feel. The patterns are subtle and beautiful too.
