Cuts extremely well

I was looking for a great quality chef’s knife that was reasonable in price to start my personalized collection. I was able to try this one out prior to buying and it cut like butter. Extremely sharp and have not had issues with chipping breaking.

Sharp out of the box

I have been a professional chef for over 6 years ranging from Michelin star kitchens, however this is my first Miyabi, I love the sharpness right out the box, the design is ergonomic, cuts are very precise, this is not a cheaply crafted knife either like you see with many others. It is a design that is durable and built to last. I love the sharpened and feel of Japanese blades, but also prefer western blades for their blade height. This is a beautiful combination of both.

A great knife for a home cook

I purchased this chef knife after using the 5.5" miyabi evolution knife for a while. The quality is wonderful for the price and perfect for a home chef like me. The longer 8" model has great versatility and is the perfect weight to hold in my hand. I'm sure this will last a long time.

Very sharp knife

This is a very good all purpose knife. I like it for some things, but overall, the Chinese chef knife works better for me. However, I will be keeping both..You can't go wrong with either.
